Rent tables and chairs, or even cozy couches, to make it a more comfortable affair.

· Up your décor game. What’s your style? Vintage? Quaint? Elegant and stylish? Centerpieces can give your décor an immediate boost if they’re creative and beautiful. Consider fresh cut flowers, clustered candles, pinwheels, or even big glass jars filled with marbles or beans in layers of red, white, and blue.

· Plan activities for your guests. If your party is happening during daylight hours, plan some fun outdoor games. Corn hole, bocce, horseshoes, and croquet are all fun options if you have a good space. Tons of space? Why not try sack races or good old fashioned tug of war? If it’s a quieter, more elegant party, consider a trivia game or patriotic Pictionary or Charades. Whatever you do, don’t forget the fireworks at the end of the evening!

· Consider concessions. Want to give your party a carnival twist? A cotton candy machine, snow cones, a popcorn cart, or a hot dog machine can mean the difference between a party that’s ho-hum and a party people will be talking about for years to come.
